These are foot measurements, not insole or shoe lengths. Do not add extra room to your measurement before using this table.

    Between sizes?

Use the table as your starting point. If the length feels right but the shoe pinches across the foot, ask us about a wider style before choosing a longer size.

    Finding your comfortable fit

    Width fitting
    Regular
    Fastening
    Zipper · Elastic

Choose Tamaris by the shape and width of the style as well as the size number. A court shoe, loafer and trainer can feel quite different on the same foot.

    • Cushioning and width: TOUCHit is a soft, adapting footbed. It does not mean the shoe is wide fitting or that the insole can be removed. Look for an explicit wide-fit description if you need extra room.
    • Trainers and boots: On styles with laces and a side zip, adjust the laces to your foot first, then use the zip for everyday access.
    • Courts and loafers: Check room across the toes and a secure heel. A pointed front should not squeeze your toes, and a slip-on should stay on without gripping with your toes.

    I am between sizes

Use the table as your starting point. If the length feels right but the shoe pinches across the foot, ask us about a wider style before choosing a longer size.

I need more room across my toes

Check the width fitting for this particular style. Your toes should have room to move without pressure at the sides. A longer size also adds length, so a wider fitting or a different toe shape may be a better choice. If no width is given, ask us to check this pair.

Shoes feel tight over the top of my foot

The instep is the top of your foot. Laces, adjustable straps or elastic can help you adjust the fit, but they do not make every style suitable for a higher instep. Check how far the shoe opens and avoid pressure over the top of your foot.

    My heel tends to slip

Fasten the shoe as you would wear it and take a few steps indoors. If your heel keeps lifting or rubbing, check the fastening and the shape of the heel. A smaller size may squeeze your toes; a different style can be the better answer.

    I use my own insoles

Look for a confirmed removable insole on this style. Removable does not guarantee enough depth for your own insole. Try the shoe with the insoles and socks you intend to wear, and check that your heel stays secure without pressure across the top.

When your shoes arrive: a quick fit check

Try them indoors on a clean surface before deciding to keep them.

    1. Try both shoes. Wear your usual socks or tights and any insoles you intend to use. Adjust the fastenings.
    2. Check toe room. Your toes should move comfortably, without pressing against the front or being squeezed at the sides.
    3. Take a few steps. Check for persistent heel slipping, rubbing or pressure across the top of your foot.
    4. Something feels wrong? Ask us before wearing them outside. A different width or shape may help more than changing size.

    Measure both feet

    Foot lengthHeel against wall
    1. Place a sheet of paper on a hard, level floor with one edge against a wall. Wear the socks you plan to wear with the shoes.
    2. Stand with your heel gently against the wall and your weight on the foot. Have someone mark the end of your longest toe, keeping the pencil upright.
    3. Measure from the wall edge to the mark in centimetres. Repeat for your other foot and use the longer measurement. Measuring towards the end of the day can be helpful.

Use centimetres only when this brand’s table includes foot length. If it does not, use the size conversion as a starting point and check the fitting advice. Foot length alone cannot tell you the width or depth you need.

    Check these three areas

    123
    1. Forefoot

Toes can move and the widest part of your foot feels comfortable, without squeezing at the sides.

    2. Instep

The top of your foot feels secure without tight pressure. Adjust laces or straps where available.

    3. Heel

Your heel sits securely as you walk, without persistent slipping or rubbing.

Tamaris Black Leather Chunky Knee-High Boots

Smooth black leather and a chunky sole give these Tamaris knee-high boots a clean, bold look. The rounded toe and subtle branding keep the detail simple, making them easy to pair with printed dresses, knitted skirts or tucked-in jeans. A long elasticated side panel adds give around the leg, while the inside zip makes getting them on easier.

    Why You’ll Love Them

    • Soft cushioning: The footbed adapts to your foot’s shape for added comfort (TOUCH-IT).
    • A little extra give: The elasticated side panel allows some stretch around the leg as you move.
    • Easy on and off: A full-length inside zip opens the boot down towards the ankle.
    • Chunky sole: Deep grooves and a 5 cm block heel add height and a casual finish.
