Choose knee-high boots by height and calf fit
Explore women’s knee-high boots at Leavys Shoes, including leather, stretch and heeled styles. Alongside your shoe size, compare the height of the boot and the fit around your calf before choosing a pair.
How to measure your calf
With your feet flat on the floor, measure around the widest part of each calf using a flexible tape. Wear the tights, socks or trousers you plan to wear with the boots. Keep the tape level and snug without pulling it tight, and note both measurements in centimetres.
Compare those measurements with the information for your chosen style and size. Boot measurements can vary by shoe size. If a calf measurement is not listed, ask our team to check the pair before ordering.
Wide foot fit and wide calf fit are different
A wide-fit label describes room around the foot; it does not automatically mean a wider boot shaft. Check separately for slim-calf, stretch or wider-calf details. Stretch fabric and elastic panels also vary, so do not assume that every stretch boot will fit the same calf measurement.
Check where the top of the boot will sit
Knee-high and mid-calf boots finish at different points on the leg, and the same boot can sit differently depending on your height. Compare the shaft height where listed, and check that the top of the boot feels comfortable when you bend your knee or sit down. For a shorter style, browse our women’s ankle boots.
Fastenings, heels and weather protection
A zip should close without being forced. Check the individual heel height, lining and fastening, and only rely on waterproof protection when it is stated in the product description. If a boot feels tight around the calf, ask about a different shaft fit rather than automatically increasing your shoe size.
