Kate Appleby size & fit guide

Kate Appleby’s fitted ankle boots and trainers need different checks. Choose for the toe shape and fastening, as well as the size on the label.

    Size chart

Kate Appleby’s size ranges are shown below. Order using the size labels on your chosen product. Foot-length measurements are not confirmed for this range, so centimetres are not shown.

    How Kate Appleby shoes fit

    • Forfar ankle boots: The almond toe and patent-effect upper create a close, dressy shape. Check room across the toes and instep with your intended socks; the zip should close without forcing it.
    • Severn and other trainers: Set the laces to hold the midfoot, then check heel hold while walking. A platform sole does not tell you how wide the upper will fit.
    • Insoles: A cushioned insole is not necessarily removable. If you need to use your own, ask us to confirm that feature for the chosen model.

    Between sizes?

Follow any specific fit note for the product. Send us the model name and your usual size if you are between sizes or have a high instep.

Brand guidance is a starting point. Product-specific details and the way the shoe holds your foot also matter.

    How to measure your feet

    Foot lengthHeel against wall
    1. Place a sheet of paper on a hard, level floor with one edge against a wall. Wear the socks you plan to wear with the shoes.
    2. Stand with your heel gently against the wall and your weight on the foot. Have someone mark the end of your longest toe, keeping the pencil upright.
    3. Measure from the wall edge to the mark in centimetres. Repeat for your other foot and use the longer measurement. Measuring towards the end of the day can be helpful.

Only compare this measurement with a chart labelled foot length. An insole or shoe measurement may include extra space and is not interchangeable. Do not add an allowance unless that brand’s instructions specifically say to.
