  • Are Caprice Shoes True to Size? Fit and Comfort Explained

    5 min read

Caprice burgundy leather wide-fit RollMotion trainers with cream soles, worn with turned-up jeans

    The Caprice fit guide

Ordering Caprice shoes online? Start with your usual size, then check the width and shape of the style you have chosen. A pointed court shoe and a wide-fit lace-up trainer can feel quite different, even when their size labels match.

Are Caprice shoes true to size?

Your usual size is a sensible starting point, but there is no single size-up or size-down rule for the whole range. Length, width, toe shape and fastening all affect the fit. Use the Caprice chart below as a guide, then check the details on your chosen product.

Caprice size guide: UK, EU, cm and mm

Our Caprice listings use a mix of UK and EU sizes. Some styles offer UK half sizes; others show EU sizes. Check the size options on the product you are ordering rather than assuming every Caprice listing uses the same system.

The table below follows Caprice’s official size guide. The centimetres are foot lengths, not measurements of the insole. Millimetres show the same figures multiplied by ten.

EU size UK size Foot length
    cm
    Foot length
    mm
    35.5 3 22.5 225
    36 3.5 22.9 229
    37 4 23.6 236
    37.5 4.5 23.9 239
    38 5 24.4 244
    38.5 5.5 24.7 247
    39 6 25.1 251
    40 6.5 25.7 257
    40.5 7 26.0 260
    41 7.5 26.4 264
    42 8 27.0 270

Caprice describes these as average guide values. Conversions can differ between brands. Not every size or half size is available in every style; always check the product’s size labels and fitting notes.

Measure first, then check the style

    1. 01

      Measure both feet

Stand on paper in socks you expect to wear. Mark your heel and longest toe, then measure the distance between them. Repeat for the other foot.

    2. 02

      Use the longer foot

Compare that measurement with the chart. If you fall between values, send us your measurements and the style number so we can help you choose.

    3. 03

      Check width and shape

Look at the G or H fitting, toe shape and fastening. A size conversion tells you about length; it does not tell you how the shoe will fit across your foot.

What do G and H fitting mean?

Many Caprice styles use G or H width labels. These are separate from your shoe size: an H fitting gives more width, rather than simply making the shoe longer.

    G

    G: standard to slightly roomier

A starting point if you usually wear a standard fit. The amount of room still depends on the style, particularly around a pointed toe or a high instep.

    H

H: more room across the foot

Designed with more space around the ball of the foot for broader feet. Look for H in the product details when you need a wider fit.

Do not automatically go up a size to gain width. If the length feels right but the front is tight, a wider fitting or different toe shape may be a better choice. Likewise, an H label does not guarantee the right fit for every broad foot.

    Caprice comfort features, explained simply

These names describe features found on selected styles. Check the individual product; they are not included across the entire range.

    AIRMOTION

Air-filled elements underfoot provide cushioning and help air circulate. Both ankle boots featured below have an AIRMOTION footbed.

    MEMOTION

Memory foam adapts to the shape of your foot. It is the comfort feature listed for the black nappa court shoe below.

    CLIMOTION

An elastic honeycomb structure with a memory effect and air channels beneath the footbed. The burgundy trainers below combine a CLIMOTION footbed with a RollMotion sole.

Feature descriptions follow Caprice’s technology guide. Cushioning can add comfort, but it cannot make the wrong size fit.

    Are Caprice insoles removable?

Some are; check the exact style. A comfort technology name does not automatically mean the footbed comes out. The two ankle boots below explicitly list removable footbeds. If you use your own insoles, check that they fit securely and leave enough room for your feet.

Check the fit when your shoes arrive

    • Try both shoes with socks or tights you plan to wear, on a clean indoor surface.
    • Check toe room and heel hold. Your toes should not be squeezed, and your heel should not repeatedly lift out.
    • Adjust laces or straps. Check for pressure across the top of your foot as well as at the sides.
    • Give yourself time before a full day of wear. Once the fit feels right, sit at home with them on for about an hour. Foot warmth can help the material settle; then take them off for the day. Build up gradually and introduce short walks once they feel comfortable while seated. Take them off sooner if they hurt.

Wearing in can help a well-fitting pair settle around your feet; it will not correct the wrong size. Read our guides to checking shoe fit and wearing in new shoes for more help.
